Opalized petrified wood necklace with hand-textured border. Opalized Wood is a type of petrified wood- millions of years ago these were trees in a forest that got covered in volcanic ash. Over millennia, they mixed with opal to become these stunning and powerful stones.
The bolo and the tips are sterling silver and the bolo piece measures approximately 1.5 inches long. It is on a 40" brown braided leather cord. I do my best to depict accurate color of the stone, but it may be slightly different than what your computer screen shows. This piece is one-of-a-kind. I handcrafted this bolo in my jewelry studio in Brattleboro, Vermont.
If you are ordering a necklace, depending on the design you may be given the option of two types of chains: a sterling silver snake chain and a sterling silver rolo chain.
The snake chain is beautiful but delicate and for some people it can break. There is nothing wrong with it, that is just how that chain works. If it does break, you can purchase a replacement on this website.
The rolo chain is sturdier because of the types of links. I like to give you the option so that you can choose what works best for you.
To get an idea of how long the chains are, please look at the black and white photo of me below wearing different chain lengths. If you need help figuring out what chain length to order, read this blogpost about how to find out what the best necklace length for you is!
I ship all over the world. Shipping is free anywhere in the USA! Woohoo! International shipping has a flat rate of $10 USD, no matter where you live.
In almost all cases, within the United States I use USPS First Class Mail or Priority Mail to send orders. All international orders are sent via USPS First Class Mail. Arrival time is different for each country. If you need me to send your order express, please contact me at email@example.com
Once you order a piece, it takes approximately 10 days for me to make it and ship it. But sometimes it takes shorter! This is not an exact science :-) I am a one-woman-show and I make each and every piece by hand. Between preparing for shows, filling orders, preparing pieces for galleries, having sick kids home from school, you name it, I want to be realistic with you about how long it might take for me to make and send out your order. If you need a piece urgently I am often able to make that a priority and get it to you in time. Please contact me if this is the case and I will make every effort to get you what you need on time.
